Today is Monday 25th October

We slept in this morning, not by much, but it was nice not to have to get up and do everything in a rush.
I don’t know where the day has gone actually. It’s 5.30 in the afternoon now and the light is just beginning to fade.

We started up the generator his morning and it works a treat. We tested it with the small kettle we had on the boat and it boiled within four minutes. There is a slight modification to do on the housing box, but other than that, we’re set in case the shit hits the fan and we lose power. At least we will be able to keep the heating going so can keep the house warm.

Next job was for Hubby to start putting the cabinet together for the cooker. I didn’t want him to do this just yet, but he got on with it so I butted out.
I can see where he’s going with it though and pointed out that the cross bar at the back shouldn’t be there are the cooker wouldn’t be able to slot in. He didn’t have the right size screws for his modifications though, so we shall be getting those tomorrow when he goes for his INR test.

The day itself has been OK and we had stew for dinner today. This will see us over the next few days and as I have an appointment on Wednesday,  we may well have something out as we’ve done before.

Hope your day has gone well. Keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. My BEST WISHES to both of you. I am happy you are able to function in a disaster. A suitable dog will become a dog will come. We are now in an Assisted Living Home. Keep safe and May God gives you the strength to handle whatever happens to you. You are both in my prayers.

Good idea to have a generator. We’re having daily power cuts again, but I fill a thermos before hand. Luckily we don’t need heating, even in winter, but I do like to have a cuppa!
And I find most days just ‘go’ at the moment too!

Sounds like preparations are going very well. Hope you can find the right screws and that your appointment is helpful!
