Time to take a breather…………..

This weekend has been blowing on all cylinders and we are now able to relax for a couple of days.
The CT scans took just over half an hour, just long enough for me to have a sandwich and latte. No BLTs today so I settled on chicken. I weighed myself this morning and I was still bang on target. Thank you scales, I know you love me really!!
We had to get a metal grill for the generator box so I thought I’d get something in for lunch. No way was I going to pay £5 for a cottage pie when I could make one for £2, so I cooked fish and baked beans for Hubby and I had a tomato pasta, using our frozen tomatoes. It was lovely and I don’t think I’ll need to buy tomatoes for months!
We did a load of washing and got that out on the line. A shower dared to visit, but it was short lived and the only things that need to finish off indoors are my hoodie, Hubby’s joggers and his PJ bottoms.

Hubby wouldn’t rest after lunch and got stuck in with the box. I got the mower out and cut the grass. Hopefully that will be the last cut of the year.

I am hoping we will both sleep better now that these tests are over. We’ll get the scan results via our GP in due course. Next up is Hubby’s INR on Tuesday. We are hoping he won’t be too far out of range as he is back on warfarin and still topping up with the tummy jabs.

We fueled up on the way home having let the tank drop to half full and have done 350 miles since topping up from a ‘good garage’ a fortnight ago. After the shock of such bad mileage with the other fuel, we are back up to 62 mpg.  Pump prices are around £1.40 per litre in the supermarket (which is usually OK for us but we were nowhere near one today) and the dearest we saw today was £1.49. We paid £1.47.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I’ve got my fingers crossed for answers from the CT scans… As for fuel prices – they are going up everywhere. My little hybrid gets over 60 mpg so I’m happy to be able to go nearly 3 weeks between fuel stops…

    • Thanks Val. It’s been a good weekend getting these tests done.
We’re pleased with 55 mpg plus as that was what we were getting from the I10 which was petrol not diesel like the Picasso, but only had a 980cc engine. The Picasso has a 1600 cc engine!
