Today is Wednesday 20th October

I started this at 2pm but we had to get our skates on in order to leave plenty of time for arrival at Hubby’s Covid swab appointment. We weren’t sure where we had to go so made a phone call before we left home which was just as well as we would have got lost. It all went well though and we’re on course for everything else happening this week.

The morning was spent dodging the weather, then taking advantage of a dry spell for two hours and drilling the holes in the wall for the electric cable.
Hubby had a slight mishap with the saw so we were administering first aid for twenty minutes, but everything is done as far as we could go, then we came in to have our second day of stew.

We have some connections to collect tomorrow when we are up for an ultrasound and INR so I may well be late again signing in. Please bear with me.  We intend to get something to eat out and have the final soup when we get home. I shall buy a lasagna for lunch on Friday as Hubby can’t have anything to eat after 1pm, so 24 hours before his procedure.

Update on the doggy:
Sadly nothing was resolved last night,  but he was collected today by a very nice man who is going to look after him himself as he also has a dachshund. They have discovered he has fleas, so a visit to the pet store for shampoo and powder was on the cards. We don’t know how long his owner is going to be in hospital, but gather it is going to be ‘quite a while’.
At least doggy is safe and will be cared for. Perhaps he might even end up being adopted.

Righto then. I have 46 comments to attend to so will do that next.
Have a good day/evening and take care everyone. Keep safe!

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Good news about the dog. Glad your hubby is OK.

What a relief about the dog! Now, concerning your husband and his proclivity for injuring himself – I hope his injury was not too serious to require stitches or other medical intervention!

    • The dog probably thinks it’s gone to heaven and I honestly hope it will be adopted as the lady cannot look after herself, let alone a dog. Thank heaven too for steri strips which are always in the first aid kit.
