Today is Sunday 17th October

There is no more daylight as it is 8.20 in the evening.  The day has been damp and chilly due to drizzle and a downpour shortly after we got back from shopping.
Our field trip today involved buying a metal bar for our box and more neighbours are intrigued as to what it’s for.  We have told several it’s for me and Hubby’s forthcoming trick of cutting me in half. Then of course there is always the possibility that I might disappear for a while………………
Anyway, we got the bar and Hubby has secured it to the box across the front. It will be padlocked on the sides once in position.

While we were out, we did some basic top up shopping and the shelves are looking low. Prices have also gone up, and not by one or two pence, but ten or fifteen, and a tin of corned beef can vary by as much as £1.20 weight for weight. Fuel is also on its way up and a litre of diesel will now cost £1.40 or more on the supermarket forecourt when last week it was only £1.33.
We bought a lasagna for dinner and there was enough for Hubby to have a second portion tomorrow. I’ll do something else for me.

Weigh in was kind today and although a sock gain, it’s put me smack on target. I am taking a breather from SW for a fortnight as with so much coming up, the diet hasn’t a chance as I don’t know when or how we will be eating, so can’t plan. One day sees us with two appointments in opposite directions.

We’ve had a walk this evening under an almost full moon and didn’t see a soul. Wonderful. There were humps on the banks of the lake which we believed to be geese and a fair bit of quacking going on actually on the lake, so the ducks are coming back.

Hope your day has been a good one. Going to try and catch up now, but it’s fast approaching our bedtime! Where does the time go?

Keep safe everyone.

I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

The shelves here are still hit or miss with many items. Thankfully I stocked up on canned salmon and some other necessary canned items that are now hard to find. Luckily all the produce is still good – for now. I have 2 – 2 gallon bags of frozen blackberries in reserve since they were 59 cents a package (6 ounces). Usually they run $3.99 a package!

It was a lazy day for me on Sunday. I had a lie in, which I needed, but felt fatigued.
I thought I’m not in the mood to dig out that buddleia. I didn’t know it was already raining when I thought this, so when I seen it was raining, I knew I wasn’t going out in that.
In the end, it became a PJ day and I just watched my dvd’s.

Lol about you telling the neighbours that your hubby is going to cut you in half. Glad you enjoyed the lasagna, and good luck with all the appointments. Xxxx
