Today is Sunday 10th October

The month is in double figures already and the day has gotten away from us.
It’s after 5pm and we haven’t appeared to do much, apart from nip up the road for some essentials and get something for lunch, and spend an interesting hour at the lake.
Weigh in saw me with a small sock gain of half a pound, but this still puts me below target so I am well pleased with that.

The day started wet and miserable, but has since warmed up and is now quite sunny and mild. I had a shower and washed my hair, then gave myself a pedicure and manicure.
I’ve never had either done professionally, and it wasn’t until Hubby and I got together that I actually had ten fingernails because I’d always been a chewer.
I am surprised at the quality of emery boards as they don’t seem to last for one nail, let alone a complete set of 10! It’s not as if I let them get too long either, so you won’t see me with monstrosities like these

How anyone could go about normal basic daily (and bodily) functions and actually walk with toenails like this is beyond me. I find it gross, rather than attractive.

The woman who held the Guinness Book of Records entry for the longest fingernails actually had them cut for the first time in almost 30 years and they had to take an angle grinder to them (source)
Makes my emery board whinge look a bit pathetic!

Have a good day everyone. Keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

My nails have always been short. But for a time I had a guitar, I had to cut my nails a little shorter.
I don’t get how anyone can go about with manicured nails. But those that grow them as long as that, yes, it makes me feel sick.

    One word, “Yeuk”!

  3. I was enjoyingmlemon cookies and milk as I read this post. Had to stop eating for a while. . . .

  4. I have indulged in pedicures (pre-pandemic) because it is difficult for me to do the good job they need. Manicures were a luxury when I had something special to go to. My hands are typically in the dirt so they don’t ever look very pretty.

The first time I saw the long toenails I almost tripped over myself doing a double take. I’m with you – disgusting and very unattractive!
