Hubby’s Project: Launch!

We loaded Love a Duck in the washing basket ready to walk her down to the park lake using our sack trolley.
We were meeting a friend there as he is a keen model maker (and was responsible for the Minions and VW mobility scooter conversion in the Carnival the other week).

Hubby took the boat out and put it on the side of the lake. I swear she was nervous.
I took the remote as Hubby put her in…………… we stood back and waited…….
Taking the remote from me, he switched on and away she went, the plucky little ducky!

Our friend by this time has his boat in the water and was our ‘back up’ in case disaster hit.

The ducks didn’t seem to mind either

The range was good too, and Love a Duck made it easily to the island in the centre of the lake, though this goose was not impressed.

SWMBO was of course in her element

It was lovely to see her responding so well and by now a third boat enthusiast had joined us
Love a Duck was holding her own though
even with me at the controls
Even better was that there was no water anywhere where it shouldn’t be!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

And no ducks were hurt in the making of this maiden voyage.

  5. Awesome! I’ve never seen RC boats before. My dad used to stick build and fly model planes.

    • Hubby built a model spitfire from a magazine series he was given. He couldn’t afford an engine for it so it was sold at a car boot sale……… for Β£50 !!!!!

  6. That’s great. He does great work.
