Truthful Tuesday : 5th October

Frank aka PCGuyIV is our host for Truthful Tuesdays. This week his question is very close to my heart………..

The Question

Do you have a sweet tooth, or do you prefer savory snacks?

Oh do I!!!!
With all the extractions over the years I had hoped the dentist would strike lucky and pull it, but no, that sweet tooth of mine is still there.
It doesn’t help that I am type 2 diabetic, but I can usually forego sweet stuff for months, and then the cravings start. Luckily it’s not a case of I have to have something else I’ll go mad, but there are times when something sweet is called for to boost my sugar levels and even ward off a headache. I can take or leave chocolate, but as soon as the box is open, it’s toast. The same goes for liquorice, jelly babies, fruit pastilles, wine gums and more recently salty and sweet popcorn.
Depression also attracts the Sweet Fairy, and I have been feeling slightly below par for a few days.  I confessed to the slime doughnuts in my last post.
As for savoury, that rotates with sweet too, and sometimes I’ll really fancy a bacon and mushroom baguette, crackers and cheese, crisps, or peanuts. Now I don’t have the latter as a rule because I think it’s the salt I crave, not the peanut!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Slime doughnuts? O_o Um. Okay then. What did they stuff those with? Because it looks green. I admire a jelly doughnut now and then, but I don’t know if I’d eat those… 😄 Great thoughts Di, and I hope you feel a bit more cheery soon! Depression is horrid.

Chocolate is my drug of choice – it certainly elevates my mood!

    • I go through stages, but fruit pastilles and then wine gums were my weaknesses until they changed the recipe. Now it’s the liquorice rock candy, which is in a drawer out of daily sight!!
