She had been so excited when he presented tickets to the theatre.
That soon turned to dismay and then anger.
Maybe it was some lame joke?
There was little space, nowhere to sit and the audience were crammed in like sardines.
Everyone was too close for comfort here, and she was glad she was used to wearing her mask.
She would avenge herself though. No-one pulls the wool over her eyes and gets away with it.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Oh! I don’t think that fella is going to be happy after that concert!!

    • hehe. Reminds me of a boating couple we met at a lock and she was having serious issues with her partner who was not listening to her and ended up ramming the lock wall. He got tickets for the Shakespeare theatre in Stratford upon Avon to see A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She was thrilled and dressed accordingly to find it was standing room only. She was furious, and we heard them arguing when they got back. I think the final line was that once they’d dropped the hire boat off, he was on his own.

  3. Love how you wove the mask motif in here! Nicely done. Amy Barlow
