The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Sept. 18, 2021

Linda’s challenge this week

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “puzzle.” Use it any way you’d like!
I’ve mentioned before that my reading craze started on my first honeymoon in 1977 when I read 5 paperbacks, all horror stories, in the week we were away (poor bloke).
If you backtrack to the summer of 1976 when Kiki Dee and Elton John were at the top of the charts with Don’t Go Breaking My Heart and it was the hottest summer on record at the time, the tiance-to become-ex-husband and I had a caravan holiday for two weeks…….. alone!
We should have realised then that the relationship was doomed, as the first week I had chronic toothache and had to get an emergency appointment, and the second week started my puzzle phase. I completed about 5, though they were only 350 or 500 pieces not like the 1000 piece puzzles Hubby and I do today.

MSM (Maggie’s Surrogate Mummy) always had at least one puzzle on the go, and it’s addictive. You find one piece that fits and before you know it, you’re looking for more, sitting down at the table, and engrossed for about an hour!
When we stayed with her, we completed a fair few, one of which was a gift and is hanging here in our lounge together with two others we have done since we arrived.

These are ours though: the narrow boat on the left below is the one she gave us.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Working jigsaw puzzles is a lot of fun. I like the ones that have a lot of things in them to find. 🙂
