Today is Thursday 16th September

After a restful night, we are up a little later and taking the day slowly.
Both of us have had relaxing showers and the washing is out on the line.  There is no rain forecast until later tomorrow so we are taking full advantage!

Our roses are in their third and fourth bloom…………Maggie’s rose has one flower out and three more coming, Peace had another 2, the red In Loving Memory has 2 to come and the Ancient Mariner stands almost four feet tall and is covered in buds and blooms already out. The yellow climbers are climbing but they only bloomed in July, so far.
Today is therefore dedicated to plodding as we have nowhere to be.
Lunch is a basic cottage pie to which I shall add mixed veg and a cheese topping with the mash. This would normally do us two days, but as we were late having lunch, I divided it into three so there is a second portion for Hubby tomorrow and I can have something else.

Have a good day everyone. Take care, and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Plodding is good! Gives you time to appreciate the beauty in life! (like the roses)

  5. My mother’s favorite rose was the Peace rose. Does yours smell like apples? They are beautiful indeed. I am also making double batches and enjoy not having to cook as often. For us it was eggplant with tomatoes served over pasta. You start by frying chopped bacon crisp and then saute all the rest of the ingredients in the fat. Tastes like pasta carbonara. It is my opinion that everything tastes better with bacon! LOL
