It’s another early start for us as we have some distance to go for my hospital scan. This will be the third one I’ve had as things have been a bit all over the place since selling the boat, moving away from the marina and Covid putting the brakes on ‘routine’ check ups.
The good news is that it’s market day, and from what we can remember, Wednesday was the better market of the two so although we know we won’t get 4 huge jacket potatoes for a pound any more, the last visit was 3 for £1.20 and we could’ve easily had one between us. We have never objected to paying a little extra for quality and their market veg was second to none.
Parking might be a game though as there were also auctions on which set up in one of the card parks, so our usual places may well be occupied and it will be the multi story for us.
From there it is planned to go to the arts and craft shop and see what Christmas stuff they have in. Last year I made over 200 cards in total and gave many away as gifts. I think I have about 20 in my box now for December posting. I’ve been buying stamps periodically throughout the year as at 66p a letter, costs soon mount.
There are other places we want to go too so I’m quite looking forward to having a bit of retail therapy. Who knows, maybe we’ll treat ourselves to lunch out, though it will be something we can take away as Hubby doesn’t feel comfortable with the idea of eating in a cafe. We still mask up when we shop and if you’re having something to eat and drink, you can’t exactly keep it on can you! Still, we can always have a picnic in the car which we’ve done on many an occasion. By the time we get home, it will be a little late for a main meal, so it will be a snacky day.
