The day is overcast and chilly, which is actually a pleasant relief from the last couple of days and nights which have been so stuffy. It’s 10.15 and the temperature indoors is a comfortable 20º C (68º F). Funny, I can still do the conversion in my head.
We have no plans today other than waiting for a phone call to discuss meds at 1.30 this afternoon. Lunch is tuna fishcakes with sauteed potatoes (left over from the tin used in the hash yesterday) and peas.
As we are likely to be in all day, I may get the kit out and make some cards today. After the glitter and glue gun fun and games, it will be basic double sided tape and adhesive stickers today. Surprisingly I haven’t done very much with butterflies lately and I have LOADS of those in a variety of colours and sizes so I’m sure I can put something together.
We had a productive day yesterday, cut the grass front and back, got two loads of washing out and dry, housework, including dusting and polishing, and my kitchen window sill is sporting over thirty green tomatoes trying to get a tan. When Hubby pulled the ‘going over’ plant, it was far from it and there were green baubles everywhere! The plant on the other side of the greenhouse is full of flowers and fruit, so we may well have tomatoes for the next couple of months! This suits me for my pastas, and I’m not buying salad stuff as the last lettuce I bought were deceptive and I ended up using one little gem per meal. Not a patch on my neighbour’s little gems either, these tasted metallic and I’d had to cut a lot away.
I have a few grapes left which are looking a little sad so I may well put them in a smoothie with some frozen fruit and yogurt. I had my last banana (from the posh shop with the ‘unhappy’ assistant) on Saturday, and those we’ve seen on offer in the supermarkets recently have been awful quality.
Hubby has a blood test tomorrow, then I have a bone density scan on Wednesday. It’s market day in the town where we’re going, so we are hoping to get some decent fruit and veg there. Plus we are off to the craft shop too to see what Christmas stock they have in.
