Hear no evil…………….

For the visually challenged reader, the image shows three men, one covering his eyes, the other covering his ears and the last one covering his mouth with their hands.

They close their eyes so as not to see
Life in true reality,
What it means for those with nought,
When in times of conflict caught.

They close their ears so as not to hear
The screams of terror crystal clear,
Young and old as they try to flee
A life of true reality.

They close their mouths so as not to say
Or admit it won’t go away,
Bury their heads in a beach of sand,
It’s their fault things got out of hand.

Who is to blame for this mess we call Earth,
Those who have bled it for all it was worth,
They won’t see, or speak, or hear
Until it’s too late and we live in fear.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

The world is full of these people! Specially the ones in charge. Thanks Di for this heartfelt poem. It should serve as an eye opener.

  2. They might not realise it until it’s too late. Tragic and it could be the reality too. Great take on the prompt, Di
