Today is Thursday 26th August

Good morning!

After a really busy day yesterday and a night where we both had difficulty switching off and getting to sleep, we are doing NOTHING today…………. that is apart from getting some curtain wire for our puzzles as they will then be easier to hang. We used boot laces before which were only just long enough, so no  slack!
The lounge looks lovely this morning, and once they’re back up, ‘home’.  We haven’t lost a lot of space by putting the boards down to stop the settees rubbing against the walls.

I’ve had a lovely hot shower and washed my hair, then Hubby had a long relaxing bath to hopefully ease the stiffness his joints. My hands are stiff this morning and holding anything is painful. I was hoping to make some cards today, but I’ll have to see how they are. A neighbour asked to have a look through my box for something suitable as a Get Well card yesterday. I had about 10 she could choose from and she couldn’t decide between two, so I let her have them both for £1. I have a lot in my box available to sell, once I get my act into gear and put a sign up, but the ones I’m hoping to make now are for Christmas, especially after my little spending spree the other day, as I don’t have that many in reserve now.

It’s 11 am already so we are off to do our little bit of shopping then back for lunch. Leftovers today as I had extra spag bol mix. Cottage pie seems favourite as it’s easiest, I have some carrots in the fridge, and other veg in the freezer, including our cauli, so will do that on the side.

Have a good day everyone. Take care and as always, keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

That lovely ‘after the hard work’ feeling 😎

  3. Card making is such a nice idea. I find people hardly send cards nowadays but it’s so nice to receive them.

My husband would almost do anything other than hang pictures! hehe! It is always the task that takes the longest…

    • Hubby is shelves………. he once threw himself out of the roof rather than hang one……… well not exactly as the ladder collapsed and it was and A&E job as he was bleeding all over the place. The shelf in question was never taken out of the box and we got a few quid for it at a car boot sale.

  6. What a wonderful feeling – that of accomplishment that works out well! 🙂 Enjoy your ‘day off”! 😀
