It’s Friday!
Welcome to my Take Seven compilation which incorporates all 21 words (or derivatives) from the Three Things Challenge for the past week.
You are most welcome to join in using as many or all of the words too. Just pingback to this post and then leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can see it and respond directly.
As always, have fun, and I hope you enjoy this week’s effort.
Our words were:
bounce, cramp, engage, enrage, fit, flat, fool, foot, forth, froth, gather, glut, oath, penny, pinch, push, repeat, swear, tea, tone, trace.
The ball bounced at her feet. She knew he wanted to engage her in a game, so despite the cramp in her hands, she rolled it along the flat floor. He was so gentle, bringing forth the ball for her to repeat the action. The tone of her voice was soothing, and soon her companion was asleep beside her.
Gathering her thoughts, she sipped her tea and was still enraged that someone could mistreat such a lovely soul. Greed had created a glut of unwanted pups and kittens, the fools pushing them into conditions not fit for purpose. One had been frothing at the mouth in its efforts to release itself from its shackles and barbs.
The warden had sworn an oath that none would be destroyed on his watch, and he had found homes for them all. Maybe it was above the call of duty, but he was not one to penny pinch and had spent a lot of his time and own money in saving these animals, none of which showed a trace of the abuse and squalor into which they had been born.
You have made a beautiful story out of an awful subject. I hope there are many more kind souls like this chap in real life.💜
Me too Willow.
I’m glad that the warden tried his best to save them
Although this was a work of fiction, it breaks my heart to hear of dogs that are living in such terrible conditions.
Awww! Love this story Di!
thanks
