Our buddlieah bush didn’t do very much last year after we’d moved it from our compost box the year before.

Photos 2018
We have noticed that every other buddlieah bush in the area is purple, whereas our is white, so we thought it was just one of those things. However, like our rose bushes this year, it has decided to grace us with some flowers, and in so doing attract the butterflies.
I took these of a peacock and small tortoiseshell with the Nikon this afternoon.

I also had a look at our Ancient Mariner and there are so many buds on it again, it looks like we are going to have a glorious second show.

These are the first two to bloom. Wonderful.

In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
These are lovely Di.
Thank you. Nice to see butterflies that are not on the cards I make!
You’re welcome
Awesome blooms! 😀
They are lovely and so many more to come again
😀
Beauties!
Thank you!
There is a white version (several colours) and the white version we have is very low growing (dwarf?) – yours is about the height of ours, so it looks as if it did well!
The purple bushes in other gardens are taller than I am, and ours has finally doubled in size, so it’ll be interesting to see what it does next year.
We have a yellow, which is tallest; white, which is smallest; red, which is abt 5ft; blue/purple, abt 4ft; and the usual purple, 7-8ft (they make a hedge along one side of the back garden). Every year, the bees and butterflies (and honeyeaters) make the work of trimming and tidying worth it.
That’s why we got ours, to attract the bees and the butterflies. Have you ever had different colours on one bush? I saw a picture of one the other day and didn’t know if it was a true image or not.
None with different colours, but the red one changes colour with age, goes a deep vermillion – looks like blood splashed along the hedge.
The blue one also fades so that the orange internal bits shine like candle flames at sunset.
Sounds beautiful Cage.
They are, but the dust that comes with the trimming … hayfever hell for both of us.
Not so good.
Yay! Nice blooms! ❤
I do love a white buddleia, they look so magical!
Ours is starting to die off now, but all being well should flower again next year.
I wonder if the white ones are as robust as the purple?
Time will tell I think. It seems to have a firm holding now.
Lovely…
How stunning! The fragrance from your beautiful rose must be intoxicating! Wow! 🙂
We can’t believe there ar eso many buds on it again. The fragrance of this one is very subtle.
I’m glad that the buddlieah flowered at last.. beautiful pics, Di ❤️
