Your line for this week is:
Izzy didn’t believe in luck, until that cat crossed her path.
Izzy didn’t believe in luck, until that cat crossed her path.
The cat in question thought it owned the neighbourhood as it was forever catching mice and leaving them as calling cards to his lady loves on the block. Some of the screams were deafening.
Izzy was, as usual, minding her own business, but felt very tired and not her normal self so decided to rest awhile. The black cat eyed her curiously, but left her alone after walking twice across her line of vision.
It was a hot day, and Izzy did not feel well at all. The black cat returned, but Izzy didn’t see anything else as she passed out.
When she awoke, she was in unfamiliar surroundings and panicked a little. A gentle voice soothed her and told her not to worry, she was safe and going to be alright. She dozed.
Izzy lost track of the days, but she was comfortable and well looked after so didn’t complain or want to go back on the streets.
Then one day, someone came in, smiled, and left again.
Izzy was adopted that day. The black cat belonged to the owners of the animal rescue shelter and had alerted them to Izzy’s whereabouts.
She was found to be undernourished, riddled with fleas, and had some infected sores on her back, but they had taken her in and made her well. With no owners forthcoming, she was put up for adoption and found a forever home within weeks.
Yes, Izzy didn’t believe in luck, until that cat crossed her path.
