Go on, you’ll be glad you did!
Here are this week’s questions, and as always the very popular Gratitude option.

  1. If you could be anywhere else right now, where would it be?
In NZ visiting Bro, with Hubby at my side.
  2. What Wastes The Most Time In Your Day To Day Life?
Tough one as we always seem to be doing something and the hours pass quickly. If I had to say something though, it would be the anger and frustration we get with the damn tourists!
  3. How would you describe your greatest enemy?  If you don’t have one, share your secret!
I don’t think I have any enemies, though I know of several people who dislike me. Sadly one is a family member and whatever axe she has to grind is her chore, not mine. I gave up offering the olive branch years ago and am now indifferent.
  4. If you were a bird, what kind of bird would you be?
Interesting link on this one. I had a budgie called Whistler as a child, and my parents later had a cockatiel called Fred. I don’t think I’d like to be a parrot as they live for years and tend to outlive their owners so I’d be quite sad about saying goodbye several times. Seeing as I seem to have a connection with geese at the moment, maybe one of those.

My gratitude for this week:

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  3. Thanks for Sharing Your World, Di! That meme is exquisite! And very insightful. I’ve known people like the rose person, you could give them a million dollars (pounds) and they’d complain about paying taxes on it. Perspective is very key! It’s still very sad when one looks at it that one’s family could contain persons one considers enemies. I understand fully though. Your attitude towards it is great! 😀 Thanks for pointing out the bird link, I hadn’t noticed that in there. I’ve had parakeets in my life; got a pair from a friend who rescued them because their original owner was ‘going to set them free, because birds ought to be free” or some such nonsense. I named them White Lady and Blue Boy (White Lady was mostly white with accents of turquoise) and Blue Boy was the standard blue parakeet you often see. White Lady outlived Blue Boy and three subsequent replacements. She was wild and quite mean. And because she was never bred, she got this weird phenomenon of beak overgrowth. I’d have to catch her and take her to the bird vet to have it ground down so she could eat and drink normally. She bit an assistant and almost took the tip of his finger off. I always warned them she was a mean bird and not tame at all. She died when Chica, my chihuahua, who always watched with great interest when the cage was cleaned, tried to catch her when she escaped. Hubby wasn’t adept to cleaning the cage, but he had tried. Why he opened the cage door is a mystery, the tray with their droppings (and the used newspaper that lined it) slid out from beneath the cage. Chica merely saw an opportunity I guess. I was quite sad when White Lady died though. She had quite a personality! Gawd. That turned into a ramble! Have a great week Di! ❤

    • Sad story.
My budgie used to whistle along whenever I played the piano (maybe he was telling me to stop LOL). Dad found him on the bottom of the cage one morning and dosed him up with home made blackberry wine which made him very chipper and happy. However, he couldn’t perch, so Dad took him to the vet, who declared him drunk! Dad explained what had happened, and it turned out Whistler had had a stroke, so it was a sniff of extra strong ether, but at least he went to his maker happy.

I was surprised you would opt for a goose… I guess I saw you more as a swift!
