Story Starter #4

Fandango is our host for this and you can find out more and how to join in here

This week’s Story Starter teaser is:

I’d been planning the perfect vacation for months, but then…

she told me she was pregnant and suddenly we were planning a wedding.
All those months of scrimping and saving were directed towards something other than sand, sea and sun.
Of course the flat would be too small for a family of three, so that meant looking for something bigger, and more expense.
She wasn’t greedy though, and careful with the pennies, even managing to save a little herself before she had to give up work when the baby was due.
She made our small house into a home, adding little touches here and there without swamping it with femininity and baby stuff. Hell, I even had a den! Okay, it was the shed, but she’d worked on that too and it was perfect for me to get away from it all, to relax and tinker with whatever hobby was of interest.
I still thought about that perfect vacation, but then they placed my son in my arms and I felt my world explode into a zillion stars of wonder.
There would be another opportunity………. Disney World isn’t just for kids is it!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
