It’s early evening and once again the day has gotten away from us.
We had some running around to do this morning and Hubby has now got the filler and sandpaper he needed to continue to work on his project. While we were out, we checked with a favoured garage about servicing and MOTs, and they are considerably cheaper than where we usually go. Having kicked the Roadside Rescue company into touch, we thought about having a mini service on the car before going down to Cheltenham for my annual mammogram, though once the dust settles on our cancellation, we shall look into other companies and see what they have to offer for the money asked. Our usual manager has now moved across to their Lincoln branch, so we have a new guy and he is equally as pleasant and proficient as his predecessor. They have never steered us wrong (excuse pun) or pushed us to have work done, always offering advice, usually free, and have competitive rates and prices.
The supermarket had very little in way of fresh veg and what they had looked like it had been run over by the delivery van rather than delivered by it, so I bought tinned carrots to go with our green beans, potatoes and pie for dinner today. Both greens and spuds were ours, and you could taste the difference.
Tomorrow afternoon we are off to Lincoln to take our neighbour for his eye operation. This is not where we believed it would be, and know from past experience that the hospital is a nightmare to get to, and parking almost impossible. We expect it will take twice as long to get home as we will get caught in the rush hour. No matter, we promised and are glad we can return the favour as in February, he did not hesitate to take me to collect the car when they kept Hubby in.
Going to try and catch up with everything now, so if anyone is waiting for pingbacks to be approved, I’m on it!
Yes – home grown veg must taste better – and way cheaper too 🙂
And nice to help a neighbour out – even if it is quite a way to drive. We have to look out for each other, especially these days. 🙂
That’s what we like about our community.
Good luck on your kindness trip tomorrow 💜💜💜
thanks……. we might well need it!!
🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Hope the trip goes easy.
Us too, especially as it’s not where we thought!
As Chuck Yeager was quoted. “Never wait for trouble.” Glad you are doing some preventive maintenance on the car… So good to have friendly and caring neighbors! Being able to help others is certainly a bonus of living in a tight knit community…
sometimes the day has a habit of getting away from us!
I’m glad you had something good for dinner!
Hope you enjoyed it!
