It’s another hot day, though we have a breeze and managing to keep cool so far.
Lunch for me is a fritatta and salad so no cooking, and Hubby is having a frozen lasagna which can be done in the microwave. Nothing too challenging there then!
INR this morning, and what a joke. Hubby’s appointment was 9.35 but there were 6 people ahead of him and they were running late. Seems they have amalgamated 3 INR clinics here but no extra staff, and the senior nurse on duty today is a lousy time keeper, nearly always late, and then takes half an hour to get going. The first appointment is at 8.30 but she doesn’t officially start until 9 and doesn’t arrive until about 10 past, so her co-worker is already playing catch up with her patients as well as dealing with her own.
Still, there was the parrot.
Yep, you read that right. Parrot.

I could hear a bird that was not a pigeon, crow, gull, blackbird, tit or robin, and it wasn’t until something with a red fantail flew off the top of the building over the car that I realised what it was. The lady who owns it is well known in town as she has quite a menagerie of pets, including 2 small dogs, and she did have an elderly GSD she would take out in a child’s cart behind her mobility scooter. The parrot sits on her head (yes, no ‘h’) and she had an appointment at the surgery this morning so the parrot had to wait outside.
It is a beautiful bird, very well behaved and knows who its Mummy is.
Hubby’s INR is in range, so missing a warfarin dose with the A&E episode last weekend did no harm, though he has to go back next week. When he came out at ten past ten, there were 7 in the queue, so they were now half an hour behind. There is nowhere to sit as you have to stay outside, and I felt for an old boy on two sticks who could hardly stand, let alone walk. We intend to take one of our collapsible stools now and keep it in the car.
