Card session 18th July

Once the sun had moved to the back of the house, I got the kit out and made a few cards this afternoon.
I had a lot of bits and pieces that needed using up so set to work with a ‘scraps’ session.
It was an interesting exercise, though one blank card did bite the dust as it looked awful because the two colours didn’t compliment each other as much as I thought they would, even with something on top of them. Ho hum. It happens.

Anyway, here we are Christmas in July, as most of the cards today were Yule themed.
In all, I made 10, learnt something and got glittered by cheap paper.
Note to self, pay the extra so that the glitter stays on the paper, not you, your work mat, scissors or double sided tape.

In the early years of my card making, I would recycle a lot from cards received, and this is what I’ve done here. I have a lot of unused gift tags I can use one way or another for some more, though in the coming months I shall be on the lookout for ‘toppers’ as they are so versatile and make ideal cards.
These are all for my personal box.

and two biggies………….

My favourites today were the robin above (the background for him is actually a jam jar cover!) and this one

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
