We were up pretty early this morning to get as much done as possible before going out for Hubby’s blood test. This involved showers and two lots of washing. Hubby noticed our line had started to disintegrate and so it meant a replacement. The nylon synthetic strands they are selling as washing lines are basically IMO a waste of time and money as they unravel quickly once cut and you have to be pretty quick sealing the ends with a lighter.
This particular line has only been up a couple of months, so we decided to bite the bullet sotospeak and fork out almost a week’s shopping money on a plastic coated cable.
Things aren’t what they used to be, and neither are price, but this is much better and more reliable as we are unlikely to come home and find the damn thing has snapped dumping the washing in the dirt.
Hubby’s INR is at the top of his range, so he is booked in for another test next week. We know why as antibiotics and painkillers throw the balance, but at least the nurse doing the test today used her noggin and didn’t faff about with reducing his dosage only to have to increase it again next week. It is still unclear when, or even if, our lovely nurse will be back.
Market day in town today and the place is heaving. We nearly got taken out by a guy with a horsebox who was drinking coffee rather than concentrating on where he was going. Where’s a traffic cop when you need one?
Lunch today is a salad and fritatta for me, and Hubby is tucking into spam, sauteed potatoes (given to us by our neighbour) and beans. I’ve done enough spuds for me to have some too with a sprig of mint from the garden and those left over will be sauteed tomorrow with whatever we have.
It’s lovely and blowy outside, overcast but warm, and most of the first wash load is dry so the remainder is now out on the line billowing away.
