Today is Saturday 3rd July

Hello and good morning!

It’s a dull  and drizzly day so far, but not cold. Glad we got our extra washing done yesterday.

The plastic film we put on our elderly neighbour’s door glass started to peel off after about an hour as it was not the sticky back plastic we used on our own. Hubby looked it up on the internet, and apparently if you spray the glass with water with a drop of vinegar in it, it will stick a treat. This he tired and we contacted her this morning to ask if it was still in place. She said it was stuck like ‘The Rock of Ages’, so all is looking good there. If there’s a problem though, we’ll source some sticky stuff and do it for her.

Not much on our agenda today, though I need bread and fruit so we are going to try the local supermarket, but if their produce is lousy, then we’ll go further afield.

We are more or less prepared for Kela’s visit though will bring some of her things round this afternoon rather than leave it all to tomorrow. When I went round yesterday, Kela heard my voice and came to the gate, then went indoors and came out of the front door to lean against me. I don’t think we’ll have any problems, though appreciate it may take a while for her to settle in a strange house.

Bummer…………. the weather heard us say we’re going out and it has started to tip down.

Have a good day and keep safe everyone.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. The English weather is doing its own thing this year, Di. Mind you rain is a lot more normal than heat waves.
