The day has dawned hot and sunny so we are glad we don’t have to go anywhere or do very much.
As usual the meters have been read and we are right where we ought to be, having used £4 of energy this week plus the £2 standing service charges.
We shall be puppy sitting for our neighbour when she goes into hospital for her heart operation next month. Kela is a 12 year old GSD X husky and extremely fluffy. She has already checked out her potential ‘digs’ and seems quite content. She plods up our drive whenever she sees us and we have fuss, so things should work out OK as she knows us.
Her routine for walks is similar to Maggie’s and we intend to keep to that as much as we can. We’re both looking forward to it and have jokingly said we might not give her back!
My Mum used to puppy sit for us when we had Barney. She was confident to take him for a walk and he was very protective of her, standing between her and whoever she was chatting to. She liked the fact that our back door was behind a high trellis gate so that if anyone came, she could safely see who it was without having to open the front door. Barney would sit or stand by her side. We had a guy come round on behalf of the Conservative Party one year for local elections, and talked to him from behind the gate.
He stank of alcohol and moved closer which made Barney growl. He left pretty sharpish and we told Barney he was such a good boy!!
We hope to get out for a walk round the park which will be longer than our usual walks. Slowly but surely is the order of the day so as not to overdo things with Hubby’s knee which seems to have sorted itself out.
Lunch is a cauliflower and broccoli bake for Hubby and a tomato pasta for me. I am using up odd and ends in cupboards and the freezer pending a shopping trip on Friday. I have no fresh fruit in the house at the moment, but plenty frozen. Seems though there is going to be food shortages in the freezer departments and also tinned tomatoes. Watch prices increase when they are more abundant!
