Hello and good morning! I can’t say I was up with the lark, but I am looking forward to a day with no running around needed and being able to sit at the table to have a good card session. I’ve bought a fair few things recently that I want to try out with some ideas but somehow the day gets away from me and before I know it, it’s early evening!
The day is cloudy but warm and breezy, so the washing is out and should dry quickly.
Our neighbour has picked her first crop of potatoes and is over the moon at her efforts. Like us, she planted some old pruny ones to see what came up. We have a large patch alongside the greenhouse, and a couple have shot up in the junk patch. Last year we had some lovely ones and they lasted us well into the winter. I am making room in the freezer for some of our leafy veg as the cabbages have gone mad. Our onions are filling out now that we’ve had that very welcome rain.
Lunch today is fish with peas and sauteed potatoes which are the second half of the tin I used in our corned beef hash yesterday. As things turned out, I had enough for three so gave a portion to our neighbour. She had it for her tea and enjoyed it immensely.
On the food front, things are looking good for Hubby and provided we don’t get too excited and let down our guard after a ‘good day’, he is managing more variety in the solid stakes.
You have a patch to grow your own veggies… how great is that 🥰🤩😍
They are all coming along nicely!
I’m glad that your Vegetable patch is giving great yields!
We haven’t harvested anything yet, except rhubarb and gooseberries!
Oh! It’s great to have a vegetable patch. The most we can do in our apartment is to coax some herbs into growing.
Sounds like a productive day! I can’t wait to see your latest card efforts! My husband has kale coming out his ears – I’m considering different ways to incorporate it into some recipes…
Hi Val. Cards are done and I’m pleased with them.
Hm, kale recipes. Can only think of chopping it, mixing with onions and mashed potatoes and frying it.
