Today is Sunday 20th June

Happy Father’s Day to all Dads out there.
We have a candle burning for our dads today. Forever in our hearts.

The day is overcast and a little chilly, but due to heavy rain in the night, I will not be cutting the grass today. Hubby had a disturbed night so we will be doing very little which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Lunch is sorted, being the third day of our stew which has been particularly tasty this time.
Both fruit and veg in the shops are very much hit and miss at the moment, and once again we had to buy a full bag of parsnips, half of which have been frozen down with half the swede ready for our next stew towards the end of next week. The idea of three days stew then four or five days ‘proper dinners’ and back to stew seems to be working. Hubby’s weight has stabilised and overall he is feeling pretty good.
Weigh in for me today and I’ve put on a pound. That keeps me in target though and I am confident I can lose it by next week. I’ve had a few salads this week which is never really a good thing for me, but the heat has made me lazy in the kitchen and I’ve been having snacky things like toast or crackers more often than I should.

Hope your day is off to a fine start. Take care and keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

The heat is making my kitchen efforts minimal as well… I think Sparky is tired of cold sandwiches!
