Today is Saturday 19th June

The rain has refreshed the air, hurrah!
The sun is out, as is the washing, we had a good night’s sleep, and the garden is going nuts.
The shower screen is still up and looks good, so we are leaving it in situ as it’s not intrusive.

Not much on the agenda today, so another relaxing day and Hubby can rest his knee. Things there are looking better and the toe is also healing nicely.

We are off to try and find some cotton bandages which are like hens teeth, then lunch is day 2 of our stew. We picked our gooseberries and a couple of sticks of rhubarb this morning, so dessert is sussed, fruit custard! Yay!!!

Hope your weekend is off to a good start.
Take care and keep safe everybody~

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hi Di, all sounds good with you. Well done on the shower. So glad hubby is improving. Have you looked for bandages on Amazon. If you have prime they will arrive next day if not you could have a month’s free trial on Amazon prime, which you can cancel at anytime before the month is up. It still runs the month but you don’t get charged! šŸ’œšŸ’œšŸ’œ

  2. I’m glad that the shower screen is up and that your hubby is feeling better. Hope you have a great weekend.

A fruit custard with gooseberries and rhubarb – Heaven!! Our first house had a gooseberry bush and I made gooseberry pie and it was sooo very good. That was followed by cobbler, crumble, muffins… all with the gooseberries. Little did I know how lucky we were. After 7 years we moved and I realized that you can’t buy gooseberries at the grocery! šŸ˜¦

    • I love gooseberries, and this is our second crop. We had about half a dozen berries last year and moved the bush thinking it had died. It seems to like it where it is now. The rhubarb is the same, and we’ve had eight sticks off it so far….. our first crop!!
