Today is Friday 18th June

and it’s wet!
It has been raining in the night and still going. The garden is welcoming the moisture so things should continue to thrive.

A bad night all round as Hubby twisted his knee again in his sleep, but there is no swelling and the ice pack will be applied throughout the day.
On the agenda today is the shower screen. We’ve checked out the box contents and all is present and correct. The screen is slightly bigger than the other one so mounting it in the exact same position won’t work. Hubby can fill in the holes from the old one as it is only three, and they won’t really be noticeable.

I braved the supermarket for stew ingredients and the produce is ropy, and that’s an insult to rope. End of the week stock I suppose, but I got what I needed. Loose baked potatoes were the size of onions, so I forked out extra for a bag that contained five large ones and some smaller ones which will suit Hubby for light afternoon snacks. Not than many people about, but car parks were full and the roads were getting busy despite the rain.

I’m going to catch up with comments and pingbacks so far as my challenges were scheduled and already gone out. Not much going on otherwise. After the shower screen has been installed, hopefully Hubby will rest up and maybe nap this afternoon.

Keep safe everyone and take care.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  4. Glad to know that it’s raining over there. Sorry to hear that he twisted his knee again! I hope it’s not very bad and that he’s able to rest.

It wet and getting wetter here?

  6. We are finally getting some rain. The ponds were down about two feet probably. It made them all look like they had beaches. I did learn about a new turtle – the Florida Soft Shelled Turtle. Quite an ugly creature but somewhat curious as he watches us when we walk by the pond each day. I wonder if he knows it is us?
