KL Caley hosts the Writephoto challenge. and you can find out more here
Welcome to the weekly #writephoto prompt!
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.
I hope the elusive muse visits you and grants a great post to go with this prompt. Happy Fishing!
For visually challenged writers, the image shows a long stretch of river with a bank at both sides. A Fisherman is present in the foreground his line cast out across the water.

The line lingered but a second before coming to rest on the water and gently stretched downstream.
He watched in fascination, no two casts the same, but the peace and tranquility of the moment, the gentle pull of the current, the reflected line in the water, calmed him.
No matter there were no fish.
There never had been here, but the one on one with nature was enough to soothe him.
He would not be disturbed as this was his place, in more ways than one.
He shared it with no human form, enjoying the reflected world in the water and unique birdsong, his feathered friends confident in his presence.
Everyone needs a sanctuary and this was his.
When asked where he was going, or what he’d been doing, he’d smile and say ‘Fishing.’
No-one knew about his inheritance, and how he had used it to purchase this private piece of paradise. One day maybe the fish would come, but for now another line lingered then dipped into the clear still water. Perfect.
