Hello and good morning!
It’s 11am and we have:
had breakfast,
done the washing,
cut the grass front and back,
weeded the lawn,
put out the beans,
watered the veg, and
done the housework.
The rest of the day will be spent recovering!!
It’s another hot one, so we were up early to do what we wanted to do. Neither of us like the heat, and going outside when it’s really hot, be it working or walking, is not exactly a cool move for us, even wearing hats.
The fan is going in the lounge, and it is currently quite peaceful outside. No-one has come to park in the road yet, but then some travel a considerable distance to get here, so that might all change after lunch.
Speaking of food, Hubby is having a McCheese today and I’m going to have a tomato and mushroom pasta. breakfast was cereal with a banana on top, plus a smoothie with strawberries, blueberries, grapes, kiwi and yogurt. Very tangy!!
The scales were kind this morning. I obviously found ‘the sweet spot’ on the floor so have marked it with a big kiss for future weigh ins (only joking). I am bang on my revised target so well pleased with my efforts this week which I intend to continue.
I had another pleasant surprise putting on my summer trousers which still fit and are a vain size 14. My joggers are a men’s medium, my jeans and another pair of light trousers a size 16 , but my frock is a size 18. They say size matters, but basically it doesn’t mean a thing in women’s clothing because everything varies with the style, cut, and label.
We had the phone bill come in today and that is in budget, so all is well on course in the finance stakes.
It’s been a good start to the day. Hope yours is as good.
It is always a good thing when the switch over of the wardrobe from winter to summer doesn’t require a complete rethink on outfits – especially if they don’t fit!
What great news for you! I know that number is important to you, so congratulations on hitting the target! ❤ As to the clothes? Since I stopped knowing what number I am (in size and in weight) unless I'm at the doctor's, I go by how things fit. I never knew about the cut and the label making a difference to how clothing fit until I was just out of high school. I found a really high-end dress (well-made, designer label) that said it was a size 10. Since I hadn't seen a size ten since I was IN high school, I was going to pass on buying it. The salesperson said "Oh try it on. You might be surprised!" So I did. To my astonishment, it fit perfectly. These days of course I'm a plus size (not saying what plus 😉 ) and I'm comfortable. But then? That dress got me through some good job interviews. It more than paid for itself.
I go by how my clothes feel too Melanie. I’ve never been fashion conscious, but like to be comfortable and ‘tidy’.
