Today is Sunday 30th May

Hello and good morning!
It would appear the visitors have drained the skies of sunshine as the day has started grey and dull. Saying that though, it is still very mild.

With no wardrobe project on the go, we turn to the next one, which is getting the garden straight. Hubby intends to inset the remaining slabs and then prepare the junk patch for our beans. We have four sturdy shoots out of the 6 planted so are off to a good start. The soil there is now beautiful as we have been putting our unwanted turfs dirt side up to rot down. the mint is going mad, and we actually have gooseberries on the bush we’d more or less given up on. The rhubarb is also doing well. Crumble here I come. Hubby intends to put the swedes there too as they are doing well as are the parsnips. The cabbages and cauliflowers are doing OK and keeping our rampant onions company.
I shall be out cutting the grass front and back, though Hubby says he’ll do the strimming.

Lunch today is stew and all prepared so I don’t have to worry too much about meals for the next few days.

Weigh in was disappointing as I’ve put on a pound. I could say that muscle is denser than fat and I’m toning up with the DIY exercise, but I confess to attacks of the fig rolls and the occasional choccy bar to boost my sugar levels this week. Ho hum. Hopefully I can pull it back next week.
Hope you are having a good day.
Keep safe and take care everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Your garden sounds to be doing very nicely! My husband planted his beans and they all came up but the bunnies have chewed half of then down to the root! He’s outside erecting the fence as we speak!
