Today is Wednesday 26th May

Day 6 of our project and the runners are now being cut to size having fit the rollers to the doors.
Hopefully all will be finished by the weekend and the house back to normal. I’ve taken pictures daily so there will be a post on it all in due course.
The weather is horrible again, though surprisingly mild provided you don’t want to go outside as that wind is cold. The meters have been read as is the norm on Wednesdays and we are well on budget. I’m glad we paid the single payment to clear the deficit, though if our original supplier hadn’t refunded us £70 before the new company took over, we would have been quids in.

Not much else on the agenda today, no appointments or shopping required, and because I forgot to take something out of the freezer last night, we’re having a tinned chili for lunch. I can add extra onions or tomatoes if need be.

Righto, my services as a vice is needed again, so I’m signing off for now.
Be back later.
Take care and keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Happy Wednesday! This headline sounds a little bit like “Good morning, Vietnam!”, from the famous movie. 😉 Michael

Sounds like the project has you hopping! I’d rather be a vice than a pack mule!! It is storming here but hot – it will be a steamy day.

  3. I’m watching your project with interest and eagerly await your post showing us all the progress photos! It sounds like a nice day to just concentrate on DIY and getting the house back to square. Have a great one Di!

    • My intention is to do a single post of our handiwork. I have pictures at the end of each day, so hopefully it should make interesting reading. We have managed to recycle a lot of the original units which has saved us a fair amount of money.

glad you are doing well Di! For once, we had a really lovely day yesterday. I was so thrilled as I had to go out! xox

    • It was lovely first thing today so I did the washing and got it on the line. It came over dull and grey but was dry by midday so I was able to bring it in. Now we have glorious sunshine!
