Today is Monday 24th May

Good morning!

Day 4 of our project and we were both up early. This was not by design, just that the clock was misread and Hubby thought it was 7am when in fact it was only 6.02.
No matter, the shell uprights are now in, though we had to go out and buy some brackets to secure them to the floor. The top is doweled, but it was such a game, brackets won for the base.
Modern builds are a nightmare as nothing is true. Everything Hubby has put together is perfectly level and square, but there is a discrepancy of 1 or 2 mm here and there which just doesn’t make sense.

The sun is out, so having checked the forecast, we did the washing. After a bit of digging, I found the pegs and was hanging it out when I felt water on the air. Behind me was a mass of dirty clouds, so I brought everything in and intended to take it up to the launderette.
At 8am, the sun was shining again and we had lovely blue skies, so everything is out now.

Hubby says there’s not much I can do to help at the moment, hence I am here in my blog though I shall be making tea shortly. Lunch today is fish as I didn’t take anything out of the freezer last night, but I may have a tomato pasta myself as I have some cherry tomatoes that need to be used up. A lot depends on how we get on this morning and what preparation time is needed for said lunch so that we can have it at a sensible time.

Aha, seems I am needed as a bench vice, so will close here for now.
Have a good day everyone and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  5. There’s nothing nicer than air-dried fresh laundry! I had a laundry line at several of the places I lived when I was renting, and one at my old house too. Here I don’t have the room (the yard isn’t ‘mine’, it’s HOA property) plus those awful big rigs would ruin any efforts in me hanging out washing anyway. But I used to love it, nothing fresher! Have a great day yourself, and best success with your project!

    • Not having a washing line was the biggest thing I missed living on the boat, much to the amusement of a lot of people! I got the laundry dry and within minutes of bringing it in, it started to drizzle. Project coming along!
