Pleased to be tired

I haven’t been in here much today but think I’ve caught up with all comments and pingbacks.
It’s been a long day. We started around 9am, had lunch just after midday, then didn’t stop again until gone 5. Office work was never this intense, even with the strictest of deadlines to meet!
The idea we had for sliding doors works well, and the framework is complete so things are starting to take shape. We had a couple of tilts, but got round them as they weren’t errors in measurement. My Dad would not be impressed with today’s builders, as walls are not straight and floors are not level. I remember way back in the 70s things were beginning to decline which was very apparent when a newly wed couple like myself and first husband had a new carpet laid and had more squares at one end of their lounge than the other. Ex to be and I were glad we’d settled for a plain carpet.

I have become a dab hand at anticipating the tools Hubby needs, fitting rawlplugs and acting as a workbench whilst Hubby cut the wood to size. It’s been an interesting and busy day, so although we both ache all over, we should sleep well tonight.

Hopefully we can get the doors and top on tomorrow, then work out what we’re going to do inside. The jury’s out at the moment as to whether or not we’ll keep the pan drawer.
Will keep you all posted.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
