A better session

As mentioned in my Today is………….. post, I settled down to make some more cards today.
I ditched the ribbon one but used the back of it to cover my stitching on the curves with straight lines. It will make a nice Hello card for one of our friends.
The idea isn’t bad, but I need to give it more thought as it was really trying on my hands.

I found some decoupage kits at the bottom of the box, one of which was the same as the last card I made for my Mum in 2017.This was the one I made today
In total, I’ve made 8 today and yesterday, and I don’t think they’ve come out too badly.

Since taking the photos, I’ve adjusted the bottom right as the last ‘loop’ is out of line.

My favourite today was made from scraps, including the oval cut out from the discarded attempt. It was a simple design but I think quite effective.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

All are really beautiful! I especially like the purple butterfly with the stitching! My father used to do string art and it has always intrigued me…

    • I quite like it, but need to find a better way of punching holes for the needle, which was too thick for the job. I think there is such a thing as a pricking tool which would be ideal.

Your cards are great! I used to make my own cards too before and I sold cards when I worked as a trainee in one gift shop for a while. It was lovely job!
