Today is Saturday 15th May

It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through May. Time isn’t flying by, it’s whizzing at warp speed. It feels like I’ve been up just half an hour after my shower and breakfast, but it’s past 10.30 already.
Breakfast this morning was cereal topped with a banana and I made up a smoothie with mangoes, grapes and the last of the strawberries and blueberries. I added an apple ice pop for zing and a generous dollop of yogurt, then arrowed up and was away. Lunch will be fish, though I am toying with a tomato pasta for me as I have some mushrooms that need to be used up. I stocked up on Hubby’s yogurts yesterday as we’d been unable to get any for a few days and not having one (they have the live cultures in and he can only tolerate the nuts and grains variety) soon made a difference to his digestion.  These have a long shelf life whereas the previous ones available only had 2 days.

We’re glad we did the work in the garden yesterday as it’s raining and we’re due to have wet days until early next week. This will do the garden good though and settle in our new plantings. I ache a bit, probably from using the mower which was a bit of a swine to start as it’s petrol so has a pull cord. Saying that though, we are both pleased with our efforts and things are coming together nicely.

My neighbour has given me some card trimmings she thinks I might be able to use so I may dabble later. I used to recycle a lot from cards received, though the ones received for my 65th this week, and our anniversary cards, are all going in a pouch with my banner to be kept intact as it was such a wonderful and memorable day. It is probably the best birthday I’ve had, one I won’t forget. Thanks to everyone here in blogland for their best wishes too.

Onward with our day then……….. nothing definite to do so we can plod and relax.
Take care everyone and keep safe.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. The hardest part of mowing is pulling the cord to get it started. Enjoy the day 🙂

So glad to hear that your Birthday was wonderful! We have had very cool weather but it is supposed to get nearly to 70F (~21C). I’m hoping all the tomato plants survive.

I’ve heard those petrol mowers are a bitch to start! My parents have one of them and they always found it hard to start! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your saturday. xoxo
