Today is…………… MY BIRTHDAY………….. May 12th

What a wonderful day I’m having.
Hubby put a notice on our lounge window which raises a smile every time someone goes past
and our neighbour gave me some bunting which was put up on the gate
 

She also gave me a number of other things, including chocolate and a small bottle of Rose wine, but the bestest was a bubble making hoop! I was outside wafting it around and bubbles were going everywhere. I love them and it was such fun!!

At 10am I donned my mask and went round the estate with a tray of biscuits and cakes for our friends. I got trashed by pups and adult dogs alike and reveled in it.
I have received a lot of cards and good wishes, including another from a work colleague of some 19 years ago who never forgets me.

Lunch today was our second stew, but it was followed with cheesecake.
This was almost a disaster as I’d made the base yesterday and got up early to do the rest today. My cheese and cream wouldn’t thicken, so I thought I’d better check I had bought the right stuff else I’d have to go up to the supermarket and buy more of both to start again.
Yep, it was the wrong one, and I’d only got EXTRA THICK DOUBLE CREAM instead of double cream.  Suddenly it all started to thicken big time, so the dessert was decidedly calorie loaded, rich  and absolutely wonderful! I took portions round to our immediate neighbours which left three for us. Hubby managed some too and there is one slice left which we can share if he fancies some more later.

I had a text message from my sister wishing me a happy birthday and saying a card was in the post.

It’s been a good day!
