Today is Tuesday 11th May

Good morning everyone!
Hope your day is off to a good start, even if it’s overcast and chilly as ours is.  It feels more like October than May.

Not much on our agenda today as we are expecting delivery of Hubby’s battery for the radio this afternoon and he wants to work in the garden. The gullies on the greenhouse were blocked so our water butt hadn’t filled so he’s fixing that as I type.
I want to go up to the local supermarket to get the ingredients to make a cheesecake as this is going to be my birthday treat to me. My plan is to buy a few other little treats and go round our neighbours to celebrate as it’s my 65th. We were on the boat when I was 60 and I did something similar. I bought a huge chocolate gateau and some doughnuts then went up to the office and round the marina to our friends.
I had a card from my friend of some 41 years yesterday. She was the one who accompanied me to the Divorced and Separated club in 1981 and also told me to ‘keep him’ when Hubby was breaking into her car as she’d locked the keys in it in 1989. She is now 82.

We managed a walk round the block last night, our first for almost a fortnight. We need to get back into the routine of walks throughout the day as Hubby just hadn’t been feeling up to it. We had an early night, and I slept pretty well, which is probably something to do with the glass of wine I had with our meal yesterday!

Onward with the day. As always, take care and keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Ah, it’s tomorrow then. I hope your hubby starts to fee l much better soon. Looks like you will be inundated with visitors of the human kind soon. Glad you have been vaccinated. Have a nice daycDi.

      • Thanks Lorraine. We see a lot of people pass by but visitors here are few, just our neighbour if she comes in for a cuppa. We are good with that though as at least we do have contact with people every day. Have a good day.

I meant holidaymakers lol. I can hardly believe the country is heading back to being almost normal!

      • OMG…….. I was way off base wasn’t I! Now we’ve both had our second jabs, we have some protection, but I don’t think the normal of 2019 will be back for some considerable time and people will adapt to a new norm. You OK?

An early Happy Birthday! Sounds like you are going to have a fun celebration!! Hope you can pull your husband away from his radio for the goodies….

    • I’m happy for him to find something to interest him as he has lost heart with his blog and his shooting club, so didn’t renew his membership.
