My great niece is 26 today, so if it’s your birthday too, Many Happy Returns.
At around 7pm thirty two years ago I muttered the immortal words
‘So that heap’s yours is it?’
Neither the car or its owner held that unkind and extremely rude comment against me, and whilst the car has been replaced on numerous occasions, we are still going strong.
Today is our Pearl wedding anniversary. Hubby has bought me flowers, a lovely card, a cute hedgehog ornament, and a camera case. I bought him this, which says it all:
Our neighbour bless her gave us some money to treat ourselves to a meal, so we went up to the local Co-op where she’d seen them and selected an Indian takeaway to have at home.
This was well worth the money as it had pilau rice, chicken tikka, chicken korma, 2 small naan breads, 2 onion bhajis, and a tub of Bombay potatoes. Hubby did very well, though I polished off the naans and also half of his bhaji. While he washed his down with water and a cup of tea, I had a small bottle of Rose wine which our neighbour had given me at Easter. It was just enough to fill the glass, and I’m afraid I am now pretty sloshed. I don’t drink as I know I can’t handle it, unless we are in the comfort of our own home and then it doesn’t matter if I go red in the face and sappy grinned.
It has been a good day. We had a field trip for Hubby to get some bits for the new battery that is due to arrive tomorrow for his radio set, we did some shopping, and I went into the store where we’d bought the laptops and my camera because I couldn’t get my pictures to load this morning. He thought a USB port had failed because when he tried one of the others, there was no problem (why didn’t I think of that, duh). The laptop is still covered by warranty so would not have been a problem, but always best to have a second opinion and a lovely lady on their help desk put her master key in the ‘failed’ port and it worked perfectly. Somewhat embarrassed, I thanked them profusely and now home, everything is working as it should. I have no idea why it didn’t work, but it is now and I’ve been able to retrieve these.
Aren’t they lovely, and this single rose is exquisite. I am a lucky girl.
