Today is Sunday 9th May

Hello and good morning!
Yes, I have made it to a morning post as we had to be up early for Hubby’s second jab.
His appointment was at 9.10 so we had plenty of time for breakfast and arrived well before the appointment time. The thing was, so did everyone else and the queue was round the car park. Mind you, they didn’t open the doors until 9.
Temperatures taken and hands sanitized, we went inside and eventually got to the reception desk. One of the nursing practitioners we know was on duty and we passed pleasantries, even though she wasn’t serving us.  I asked if I could be done as well today as I was expecting my invitation any day. I was surprised when they said yes as I was over 49, so I’ve had my second jab too, Hurrah!!!
As we were both drivers, we had to sit and wait for 15 minutes to make sure all was OK, as if we didn’t and had a car accident within those 15 minutes, our insurance would have been invalidated. We had some banter with the staff and other ‘waitees’ which broke the monotony. We raised a few smiles, especially as one of the staff said we had to wait an hour not 15 minutes, so I said did she really want to put up with us for an extra 45 minutes, and everyone laughed. I suppose we could have made coffee for everyone, but they had no biscuits. Shame!!
All is good, so we are back home now and having a cup of coffee.

First text in with the revised target today, and I am bang on, so that is a good start after my fortnight break with SW. I’m feeling better in myself and think I can now apply myself properly.  Hubby will be having the last of the cottage pie today for his lunch, and I’m going to do a jacket potato with onions, peppers, carrots and tomatoes in a garlic stock for myself. It’s all free and apart from the potato, speed food.

I’m also going to make some cards today. I have a set of cutters that I can use to make up ‘frames’ and hopefully will be able to put something together a little different from the norm and following the design of a decoupage kit I bought some time ago.

Onward with our day then. Take care and keep safe everyone!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Congratulations on the 2nd vaccination! Seems fortune was smiling on you. I hope your card making session is as successful as the last one – I loved the colorful designs.

  4. Congratulations on the 2nd jab! Woo HOO! It’s strange how such a relatively small thing can change a person’s perspective – I know, even though it wasn’t logical, that I felt safer almost immediately. I hope none of the dreaded side effects visit either of you! Have a great day Di!
