Today is Friday 7th May

It is a glorious morning here, which is a very pleasant surprise after the rain we had for the majority of yesterday afternoon and through the night again. Still, all good for the garden.
I had hoped to cut the grass today, but it looks too wet now, so maybe later.

We have a field trip this morning to the bank and to get some replacement flip up sunglasses for Hubby as he seems to have lost the ones he had on our shopping trip on Wednesday. I am also going to do some top up shopping for the weekend as there is more supermarket choice. I’ve noticed they have widened the aisles in our local supermarket, so hopefully when the holiday season really starts, we won’t have to barge our way through a mass of people to get to the shelves!

The rain has not spoilt our efforts on the fence and it looks pretty good this morning. I have been outside with a spray bottle and blue cleaning roll to remove the bird poop from the bedroom window. I also wiped off similar deposits from the car which was wet from the rain.

There’s not much going on around us. The visitors went home after the bank holiday and everywhere is pretty quiet. We seem to have some unfamiliar faces on the estate, some with dogs, so they might be the new residents as three properties in the next road were sold some time ago and we’d noticed a couple of removal vans.

Other than shopping and potential grass cutting, not much else on our agenda today.
Have a good day everyone. Take care, and as always, keep safe.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I’m so glad to know that I’m not the only one that misplaces those sunglasses! I used to have the kind that were attached with a magnet but those were even worse because to replace them required a visit to the optometrist and a big wad of cash! Hope the weather stays sunny and your weekend is glorious!
