When was the last time you were totally lost?
[Be this physically, mentally, emotionally or so on, interpretation is yours]
Wednesday. We were in a strange town looking for a particular shop but no idea where it was and didn’t recognise any of the surroundings we found ourselves in.
Do you think that we as viewers of the entertainment industry have much higher and perhaps unrealistic expectations of the content that we read, watch, or listen to today in comparison to previous years and or generations?
I have no idea, as we haven’t got a TV, cannot abide ‘reality TV’, soaps or talent shows, and the music of today IMO is just tuneless noise, or something that sounds promising, which the original artist also liked so much that they repeated it again, and again, and again……….. Saying that though, I have started a new book by one of my favourite authors of yesteryear and enjoying it, so one out of three ain’t bad.
Does Money ‘Really’ make us happy or is that just a myth and more importantly it is ‘what you do with it’ that makes you happier?
Money can be a curse, but on the plus side, you can live in misery in style. All we want is enough, which we have.
How important is being right to you?
Depends on the circumstances Rory. It’s not always nice to be right, but maybe doing what’s right is more important.
How often do you find yourself completely confused with life and the way it is changing and has changed over the last ten or twenty years?
Every day. Things are not what they used to be, even before Covid hit. The world has gone mad, there are more than 2 genders, people are offended at the silliest thing for the stupidest reason, and if someone doesn’t like what you say about them, you are likely to find yourself with a law suit.
When out shopping and carrying your goods or groceries which do you prefer to use more often – paper or plastic bags [reusable] or cotton totes or something else?
I have a cloth bag in a bag attached to my handbag, carry large heavy duty grocery bags in the back of the car, but if I have a lot of shopping, I use the trolley to wheel it out to the car.
How many emails do you get a day [roughly] and from who do you get the most?
I exchange several emails with a dear friend every day. Apart from that, we get emails once or twice a month unless we’ve ordered something online and then get the necessary notifications.
I haven’t included notification emails from WP which is around 25 – 30 a day.
Have you ever made for yourself ‘homemade wine/spirits’ and if so what was it made from and how was it?
Not personally, but my Dad did, and it was fabulous. He made wine out of all fruits, veg and even tea leaves which after five years was a glorious sherry. He won a lot of prizes in amateur wine tasting competitions. and was well respected in that particular circle.
In your opinion and from no ‘fixed time period’, what have been in your eyes the top 5 most memorable television series you have ever watched and what made them special to you?
I watched a nature series about an elephant called Echo and her family. It made me cry.
I loved Star Trek, the original series, NCIS (though since they have removed two major characters, I’ve lost interest, sorry Gibbs), the original Fugitive series with David Janssen,
and Tour of Duty, which we treated ourselves to on DVD last year.
My reasons are simple, they had stories, believable characters, and little bad language.
What’s wrong with today’s music as opposed to the music of your yesterday’s – do you consider the music now to be far worse or greatly improved and why?
It’s noise and an insult to my ear drums. Occasionally you get something decent, but I don’t listen to the radio unless I’m in the car, so couldn’t tell you what’s in the charts or who the latest craze is.
Does world history really matter to our daily lives – is it that important – l mean it’s not like we can change anything right – what do you think?
We can’t change history, and shouldn’t try to erase it, but we should most certainly learn from it………… but don’t.
Do you believe that a good night’s sleep and waking up refreshed the following day helps you make better decisions or worthier improvements to your life – or it makes no difference at all?
I’m a light sleeper and anything disturbs me. I can’t remember the last time I had a full uninterrupted night’s sleep. However, feeling refreshed the following morning for whatever reason usually puts you in a good frame of mind, so maybe.
