Truthful Tuesday: May 4th, 2021

So good to see Frank back with his Truthful Tuesday posts.
Check it out here and have some fun playing along.
Funny how my Today is…………… was Star Wars Day.
Today is not just Tuesday, but it is May the 4th, aka Star Wars Day! (May the 4th be with you! ) Since Star Wars Day just so happened to be a Tuesday this year, it seems only right that we should discuss our honest feelings about the Star Wars franchise. So with that in mind, here are this weeks questions:

  • Are you a Star Wars fan? Why or why not?
I enjoyed the first film immensely as I loved Sci-Fi and this was something ‘new’.
  • What is your opinion of the original trilogy (Star Wars, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi)?
All good and the kids enjoyed them as much as the adults!
  • What is your opinion of the prequel trilogy (Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars, Episode II: The Attack of the Clones, and Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith)?
I saw the ‘first’ and thought……………… er, No.
  • What is your opinion of the sequel trilogy (Star Wars, Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Star Wars, Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, and Star Wars, Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker)?
I’d lost interest totally by then so didn’t look for them.
  • What is your opinion of the ancillary stand-alone movies (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story)?
    ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz can’t comment.
  • What is your opinion of The Mandalorian?
    The what?
  • What is your opinion of the continued expansion of Star Wars based TV shows, such as the proposed The Book of Boba-Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi series?
Sorry to be a killjoy, but  we don’t have TV. Besides,  dead horse and flogging come to mind.

Well you did say be honest!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

They should have left it at the original three movies. I remember hearing years ago that there had been talk of it being a nine-movie series, with the middle three being done before the first three and last three, but figured that since there was a huge gap between the end of the second three that they had abandoned the idea. I wish they had, but I guess they wanted to sell more merchandise…

    • Hi John, It was a big money spinner but I haven’t seen most of them and no longer interested anyway. Totally different kettle of fish, but they flogged Resident Evil until it was utter tripe IMO!

      • PCGuyIV says:

I’ve never been one for zombie movies in the first place, but since Resident Evil was a video game franchise before it was movie fodder, it’s not that surprising that it got run into the ground when the first one actually turned a profit.

      • The first two were really good, though we actually bought about five, then it got silly and we preferred the one that was animation!

  2. murisopsis says:

Rogue One was good! The others were Meh except for the very last one which tied up loose ends…

  3. PCGuyIV says:

I use the term “TV series” in today’s looser sense of any serialized show. Technically, these shows are only available (in the case of The Mandalorian) or only going to be available (in the case of The Book of Boba-Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi), should they come to fruition, through the Disney+ streaming service, so technically, as long as you have an Internet connected device capable of displaying streaming video, and pay for the Disney+ service, naturally, you can watch it.

I agree Di I list interest too I took the boys to see the original ones and they loved them. Can’t say I have taken much interest since. I think the video I sent you yesterday says it all 💜💜💜
