TODAY’S QUESTIONS

How long have you been blogging? Can you remember the first blogging award you received?

Do you still accept blogging award nominations or is yours an award free blog? If your blog is award free, what are your reasons for this?

How long have you been blogging? Can you remember the first blogging award you received?
I started my blog in September 2013 and never for one minute thought it would take off the way it has.
The first award I was nominated for was the Liebster Award and I had no idea how to handle it, what it was, or what I had to do, so I ignored it!!

Since then, I have been nominated for several, some on multiple occasions. I am always grateful to be thought of, which brings me nicely to Dr Tanya’s second question today:

Do you still accept blogging award nominations or is yours an award free blog? If your blog is award free, what are your reasons for this?
I’m not award free, and happy to acknowledge any nominations by answering the questions set. However, I find it increasingly difficult to nominate other bloggers who are probably already in receipt of the award concerned, and sometimes answering and setting so many questions to ‘pass it on’ is a challenge in itself, so I have taken to ‘throwing it open’ to my readers who can choose to answer my questions …………… or not.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I think that is the way to go with awards, throw open the nominations

You have captured the essence of the difficulty with these awards – namely being able to “nominate” bloggers who haven’t already gotten the award!

    • It is hard sometimes. I think some of my last nominees were bloggers that had just started to follow me. The interesting thing at that time was that I had no takers whatsoever!

  3. I think that is the general consensus: answering the award questions is fun, the nomination gratifying, but paying it forward by nominating others becomes tedious
