Our photo is supplied by Sadje and her site is Keep It Alive, which is well worth a look.
The lake was quiet now, calm and tranquil with only the occasional ripple generated as a fish came to the surface after a tasty fly. The sky reflected a mirror image world, one where a new occupant was now residing, against their will of course.
Pat rowed the boat silently back to the shore having disposed of her rival. It had been so easy to lure Penelope to a picnic on the water. She had always been such a trusting idiot.
Pat tied the boat securely, then returned to her car, only to find a sodden Penelope waiting for her.
‘You forgot how long I can hold my breath underwater, you bitch!’
And with that she swung the wooden staff with all her might and broke Pat’s neck with the impact.
She tossed the log into the lake and headed for home.
Sisterly love, or lack of it, worked both ways.
