Blogging Insights — CHANGE

Dr Tanya is back with her Blogging Insights series. This week, it’s all about change.

I love saying that change is the only constant in life and in the world. Our blogs are as liable to change with time as our lives, case in point being the topsy turvy upheaval caused by the pandemic.

How comfortable are you with change?
I don’t embrace it easily I’m afraid. Better the devil you know and all that, but a lot of it is technical and my mind isn’t wired like that. Give me a list of figures and I’ll balance it 20 different ways, but try to get to grips with say the block editor? Tougher.
Unfortunately we don’t have a lot of choice in today’s age and have to go with the flow, adapting ourselves to the best of our ability. I manage.

How often do you like to change your blogging style or the topics or format of your blog?
Over the years and by re-reading some of my earlier posts, I can see how my writing style has changed. The pandemic put the kibosh on socialising with the darts team, and people watching has now become more of people avoidance. I still aim for variety though, but choose to avoid some topics other than a slight referral. My format is pretty standard.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I still am avoiding the block editor by not updating my app. But one day I’ll have to. 😱

Everyone has a slightly different style which is very refreshing! I’d get bored if all the blogs were cookie-cutouts of each other!

  3. I think the kind of change is important in how we react to it.
