Blog Series Questions

Rory has a new series of questions for us.
You can check him out here , he’s well worth a look!
Once again my image has come out in reverse to the original.
Ho hum. welcome to the Dark Side (and yes, I did have cookies).

Are you ‘mostly’ a short content or a long content reader and how many words within those defines can you comfortably read per post?
I find very long posts a little offputting unless they really hold my interest. I suppose between 500 and 800 words is the norm for me.

How many blogs do you read per day?
Many of the bloggers I follow publish several posts a day (as do I), so although I might read say 20 posts a day, that could only be half a dozen bloggers. Then again some bloggers I follow only publish one or twice a week, so I could read more than ten bloggers a day.

Are you a short, long or varying length content writer and if so what is your preferred length for a post that you create?
Looking back on my first posts, they were IMO way too long, so I made a conscious effort to keep to 500 words or less. The word count challenges I took part in helped enormously. However, sometimes I get carried away on a topic and will write 1000 words!

What kind of relationship do you have with the blogs that you follow – in so far as Like Only, Read only, Interact only, Comment only or a combination of all?
I like to think my relationship with fellow bloggers is a two way street, and believe I have a good balance as I will like and comment on a post though sometimes I read only.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Oh, great questions and answers. I think I agree with all of your answers. I think I am drawn to people and their writing so can vary what I’ll do each and every time. I’ve popped over to Rory’s blog (although I can’t find a follow button), I hadn’t come across it before. I’ve done a post too. Thanks for sharing. KL ❤

  2. Hey Di, a well rounded and balanced post filled with great answers with Q4 although Melanie would class it as a comboblogging package which is an excellent way of looking at it too 🙂

I discovered that the longer a post the more often it was broken by advertisements. If a post is 500 or less the ads seem to fall at the end…
