Good morning one and all!
The sun is shining, and through glass, it’s lovely and warm. Outside is a different matter and I got very chilled reading the meters this morning!! All good, and in budget. Hurrah!!
Field trip planned today. We’ve got to go to the bank as the Easter Bank Holiday has thrown my bookkeeping and I want to check. We used to do it by phone, but since they’ve changed it all to voice recognition, that’s not so straight forward as I do Hubby’s accounts too. It’s a good excuse for a drive though, and we can do some basic shopping too, even if we don’t need very much. It’ll be nice to go out.
I had a better night’s sleep last night, but woke up at 5.30 hearing voices!! I thought they were in my head, and it sounded like two men but I couldn’t make out what they were saying. I nudged Hubby who was just waking up anyway (he’s an early riser) and he heard them too, so got up to investigate. Turned out to be two blackbirds on next door’s roof, probably waiting for the worms to surface.
That reminded me of the thrush on the TV aerial in NZ that would be singing his heart out at 3am! This was definitely not singing!!!
It’s not yet 9am yet I have already seen 4 dog walkers pass our window. Seems they are thinking along the same lines as us and getting out early to avoid the masses. We walked into town yesterday with our neighbour and Hubby got a new flip latch for her gate. I also got some colouring pencils so will be having a little play later with the stencils. More ideas are filtering through the grey matter, but I think it will take a while for me to sort out how to do them. The shop we went into, a hotchpotch of DIY materials, sweets, tins and household items, was packed, and not many were locals judging by the ‘Look at this’ or ‘We don’t have this at home’. One couple had two children, I’d say about 7 and 8, who were demanding, whiny, and eventually screaming for what they wanted.
Grrrrrr. ‘Go Home!’ Brats.
The bakers was also full and we had to queue for our treat. I’m glad to say the Easter gain has gone and I am back where I should be.
