Today is Thursday 1st April

White bunnies and all that. It’s a new month, and it’s started off cold and windy!
Hubby has had his blood check and as expected is out of range again. Now that his course of antibiotics has finished, this should settle down but he has another test next week.

The car is booked in for this afternoon, so lunch will be early and safe, as everything is cooked in the oven bar the baked beans which will be done in the microwave. Shouldn’t burn those then. We shall be going to one of the larger supermarkets and a hardware store to replace my pan and possibly get a second as I only had the two small ones and it was a pain if I wanted to cook anything else. I have a large pan that is used for our second day stew or if I’m cooking loads of veg at the same time like at Christmas. We’re going to try fish today as Hubby can take the breadcrumbs off.

I’ve just seen Pippa being taken for a walk by her owner. I am so glad we went round last night as I know I would not have slept well. I’m a softie where dogs are concerned, though I guess you might have already got that impression.
We are going to have a furbaby lodge with us for a little while in the near future as her owner is going into hospital for heart surgery. She approached us as she was worried about her dog’s care and we didn’t hesitate. The dog knows us, and ambled into the house the other day to check it out. We didn’t stop her, and I think we passed muster as she found the doggy cupboard even though it has different things in it now. No problems for us anyway and the owner’s relief was evident.

Hope your day has started off OK. Keep safe and well everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Enjoy looking after the doggy. Sounds like she already knows her way around. 😊

  3. A doggie bed and breakfast!

    • yep. She is gorgeous and likes us, so that is half the battle. Don’t know when her owner is going in yet, but we are playing it by ear and there won’t be a problem.

  4. It sounds like I missed something (or maybe two somethings) recently? I’ll have to catch up on your dailies! Congratulations on the furbaby sitting, just a bit of a cautionary word, you’ll get attached and it’s a bit of a wrench when doggie goes home again. I still have fond memories of Martha and Taco, and being their ‘foster’ parent while their owners were away from time to time. Both are gone now of course, as is Huny. I’m not sure that Ziggydog would welcome an interloper, but I read a story recently of how it was the author’s opinion that dogs, being very social animals, need a friend. I know you’ll have a grand time! ❤

    • You haven’t missed anything Melanie as this is the first I’ve mentioned it. We’re already attached as she’s a beautiful dog who likes us, so we are really honoured to be trusted enough to be asked.

Still dog sitting here. This gives my husband his “dog fix” and keeps everyone happy. Oreo has been my computer buddy – he loves to curl up next to me as I type. Glad you are trusted to help out a neighbor in need! Hope you can find the size pan you need.

    • Pans bought Val, I treated myself to a milk pan too. I get my puppy fixes from all the dogs around us, so I’m doing pretty well really. Maggie is still with us though, always will be.
